The BC River Forecast Centre is ending the High Streamflow Advisory for rivers in the Southern Interior including:

• West Kootenay and East Kootenay;

• Columbia;

• Boundary ;

• Okanagan;

• Similkameen;

• South Thompson tributaries.

The hot spell earlier in the week has ended, and temperatures have dropped over the past two days. Snow melt rates have declined as a result of lower temperatures. The river response from higher snow melt rates of Monday and Tuesday has now passed, and most rivers peaked on Wednesday. Rivers have remained below levels of concern.

Modest weather is forecast into the weekend, and river levels are expected to continue to recede over the coming days.

The River Forecast Centre will continue to monitor conditions and will provide updates as conditions warrant.
