Without a doubt, Rosslanders are a hearty bunch as evidenced by the many of you that braved the storm in November to exchange your lights for energy efficient alternatives. In total, 152 strings of holiday lights were collected and 325 CFLS exchanged. If all of these lights are used to replace incandescent bulbs, Rosslanders will have collectively saved over 41 thousand kilowatt hours of electricity — that’s enough electricity to power 3.3 homes annually.

Audits complete, follow up calls underway

By now, participants should have received the information back from their auditors. I’m currently calling all participants to check in on how their upgrades are progressing, I’m also available if you have any questions. Please send me a note or call me at the number below.

Let us know how much you plan to save

We’d like to know more about how you’re doing and what upgrades you plan to make. Any surprises from your audit? Big changes or small changes? Send me an email at energydiet@fortisbc.com

More on insulation

Some participants have asked for more information about insulation, such as:

  • What do R-Values mean?
  • Is blown-in insulation better than batt?
  • Is it better to hire a contractor or do it yourself?

To help you answer these questions and more, we’ve created the attached fact sheet. You can find more information about this and other great information about energy saving upgrades on our PowerSense elibrary.  More questions? Give me a call.
