Police search of Nelson residence finds cocaine, roids and cash
Earlier this week — Monday, December 19th — a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed on a residence in Nelson.
During the search a substantial amount of cocaine, worth an estimated street value of $40,000, was seized.
Police also seized steroids, marihuana, and a large sum of Canadian currency at the residence.
A 27-year-old male, who is known to police, was arrested at the scene, and later released.
Police are recommending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order against the male.
The male is scheduled to appear in Nelson Provincial Court on March 6, 2012.
Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking are also pending on the 23 year old female resident of the house.
