The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Depot is moving to a new, more convenient home at the Boundary Hospital after a year of uncertainty.

The move, taking the service from the old forestry building back to the lower level of Grand Forks Hospital (just follow the signs once inside), will take place over the holiday season. The depot will be closed Dec. 21 and re-open in the new location on Jan. 2, 2012.

The Canadian Red Cross health equipment loan program (HELP) is a volunteer-driven, community-based program that provides essential health equipment to individuals on a by donation basis. The provision of equipment such as wheelchairs and bathing aids can make a real difference in the recovery and support of a person in the community.

The Grand Forks HELP service has openings for a few more volunteers to join the team. If you are available for a two hour shift in the new location please contact the depot at 250 442-2608 in the New Year.

Please visit their new location in the lower level of the Grand Forks Hospital. HELP is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and  Fridays from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m..

A referral from a health care provider is required before health equipment is provided. If you have equipment to return, please return it to our new location after Jan. 2, 2012.

Please call 250 442-2608 for more information.
