A man allegedly spent the night on an Uphill patio in a disturbing trespassing case, the Nelson Police Department reported Monday.

A female Nelson resident was in her home early Sunday morning when she looked out and saw a male standing on her rear patio.

She called for her husband and walked to the kitchen, said NPD Sgt. Paul Burkart.  Allegedly the man tried to open the backdoor to the house, which was locked.

The woman yelled at the male who ran off the patio and climbed a steep hill into the area of Fort Shepard Drive.

“It appears that the male was on the patio for some time, possibly overnight,” said Sgt. Burkart.

The man is described as a Caucasian male in his early twenties, with short sandy blond hair and a scraggly beard. He has a slight build and appeared to be wearing a dark suit jacket and a white shirt.

Police are reminding Nelson residents to lock their doors and windows at night and to contact police to report any suspicious activity
