The West Kootenay High School Field Hockey season comes to an end this week with playoff action.

Tuesday, Pass Creek Park in Castlegar is the site of the West Kootenay Junior Girl’s Field Hockey Championship tournament

L.V. Rogers Bombers, Rossland Royals and Trafalgar Totems make up the draw.

The final game of the round robin tourney is set for 2:15 p.m. at Pass Creek Park near Robson.

L.V. Rogers Bombers head into the tournament on a high note after recently defeating zone power Rossland Royals 4-0 earlier this month.

Jena Wheeldon paced the attack with a hat trick while Hailee Gerun added a single.

Tara Yowek registered the shutout despite LVR playing the game shorthanded with only nine players.

The LVR senior squad, which is stocked mostly by junior-aged players, lost 1-0 to Stanley Humphries Rockers in zone playoff action.

The loss eliminates LVR from the post season.

Stanley Humphries faced Rossland for the zone crown.

Bombers seniors get second chance.

The L.V. Rogers Bombers have an opportunity to take the back door into the B.C. High School AA Girl’s Field Hockey Championships.

The Bombers lost to Stanley Humphries 1-0 but the Rockers can’t make the back door game due to injuries, opening the door for LVR.

The game is set for Wednesday in Kelowna at the Mission against Okanagan #2. The winner advances to the AA tournament November 2-4 in Victoria.
