What the heck? Where's KBS?
Not gone, and not forgotten — KBS remains, but in a new incarnation created to respond to listener demand.
Kootenay/Boundary listeners asked for more music variety. We listened and are giving our listeners what they asked for.
“The Kootenay/Boundary’s EZ Rock,” the region’s newest radio station, hit the airwaves on Wednesday (Oct. 5) at 9 a.m. — delivering more music variety. EZ Rock is still the same radio station the Kootenay/Boundary has come to know and love with the same great personalities and community spirit. We’ve added a few new shows and features to refresh the sound along with the new name. Now, we are in line with our brother and sister stations in the Astral Family in British Columbia and the rest of Canada.
“Our listeners told us they wanted more variety in the songs we play, so that’s what we’re going to do. EZ Rock is the Kootenay/Boundary’s station for More Music Variety,” said group brand birector Mark Burley.
EZ Rock general ganager Nicole Beetstra said this was a very exciting time and hoped listeners, who’ve stood by them for over 80 years, loved their new look and sound. “Why the new EZ Rock? We wanted to find out what listeners want from their radio station and they said a wider variety of songs,” she said. “We’ll play even more music from a variety artists like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Phil Collins, while still focusing on the community we all call home”.
