Frame wows the crowd at Kaslo May Days Skateboard event

Trevor Frame of Castlegar entertained the crowd to claim the 15-plus age group at the SK8 event of the 2011 Kootenay Skateboard series this past weekend during May Days celebrations in Kaslo.

Frame out-pointed Acquilla Clarke of the Sunflower City during the high-octane event.

Raven Truth of Nelson was third.

In the 14-year division Levi Peirson of Slocan City won the top prize. Cosmo Rich and Jacob Erickson, both of Nelson tied for third.

This is the second season for the Kootenay Skateboard Series.

The season opened in Trail at the Cominco Arena. The event was moved indoors due to inclement weather.

After Kaslo the series shifts to Castlegar for the Skate Jam June 5.
Game of S.K.A.T.E goes in Nelson later in June before the scene shifts to July 16th.

The season concludes with events in Invermere (July 23), Rossland (Sept. 11) and Castlegar (TBA).

Also on the schedule is the Josh Evin Backyard Bowl Bash set for June 11th in Slocan City.
 

During the opening meet during Silver City Days in Trail at the Cominco Arena, Cosmo Rich of Nelson topped the 14-year category over Levi J. Peirson of Slocan City and Michael Graham of Castlegar.

In the open division, Tyler Morris of Rossland edged out Eugen Voykin of Pass Creek. Tom Reimer of Salmo and Justin Moroz of Nelson tied for third.
