Knowler wins competition, Team White wins Midget Allstar Game

Kootenay Ice Jesse Knowler won the fastest skater competition, but the opposing Team White took the bigger prize, edging Team Blue 6-5 at the annual B.C. Hockey Major Midget Hockey League All Star Game Friday during the weekend at the Art Holding Memorial Arena in Chase.
Alex Kerfott of West Vancouver scored the winning goal with 4:31 remaining in the third period.
Kerfoot opened the scoring for Team White mid-way through the first period.
After the skills competition held in the first intermission, where Knowler, from Castlegar, skated off a time of 13.41 seconds to capture the individual honour,
Team White made it a 4-0 game with goals from a pair of goals from Trevor Cox of Surrey and Taylor Grobowski of Nanaimo.
Team Blue cut the lead to 4-2 with a pair of markers from Nic Petan of Delta.
After the team’s exchanged goals early in the third period, Tyson Witala of Prince George and Connor Bowen of Abbotsford scored 17 seconds apart to tie the game at 5-5.
Luke Bertolucci of Kootenay joined Knowler on Team Blue squad.
Players who have played in the BCMML All Star game include Evander Kane of the Atlanta Thrashers, Brett Connolly of the Prince George Cougars and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Red Deer Rebels.
