The Nelson and District Credit Union recently donated $2500 towards the cost of new Dartfish software for The Red Mountain Academy. “The Dartfish software allows us to slow down and analyze the video of an athlete doing a trick or a border cross start so we can really break it down with the athlete” saidConnor Martin, head coach of the Kootenay Snowboard Academy. Dartfish is the most advanced video technology on the market and allows coaches to stream, manipulate and analyze sport video to give athletes instant visual feedback of their performance. The addition of the Dartfish software will give athletes of all Academy disciplines (alpine ski, free ski, snowboard and dance) a competitive edge by being able to analyze and compare their performance during competition, on‐snow training and dry‐land training exercises. “It is resources like this that help us to continually improve the Academy programs and recruit new athletes, both locally and internationally” said Kristi Calder, CoreCoordinator of the Red Mountain Academy. Red Mountain Academy currently offers innovative and flexible options that allowathletes to balance a state of the art coaching program with their educational needs. For more information visit www.dartfish.com or www.redskiacademy.com.
