Thousands say good-bye to two young Castlegar men

 Memorial services for 19-year-old Castlegar man Zach Larsen have not yet been scheduled, as the family awaits the conclusion of a forensic examination, to be conducted tomorrow.

An impromtu memorial has been established at Mushroom Park (at the corner of 2 Street and 6 Avenue), however, where mourners are leaving flowers, candles, teddy bears and other tributes under photographs and drawings of Larsen.   Almost 4,000 people joined a Facebook page dedicated to the search for the young man, and more than 1,700 people a members of a Facebook group called “Rest in Peace Zach Larsen”, where they are offering condolences to Larsen’s family and friends and sharing anecdotes describing who Larsen was to them and why they’ll miss him.   Larsen disappeared June 6, and is body was found in the Columbia River Monday. Police have not yet determined the cause of death.   A similar memorial continues to grow in front of the Black Russian Skate Shop on Columbia Avenue in honour of 29-year-old Josh Evin, who died in motorcycle accident June 13.   More than 1,400 people attended Evin’s memorial serice at the Brilliant Cultural Centre Thursday, while as many as 700 peole attended his interment the following day.
