R.C.M.P. bust big grow show in Fruitvale

 On April 17, 2010 members of the Trail RCMP with the assistance of the Regional General Investigation unit executed a search warrant on a residence on Balsam Road in Fruitvale. A large, sophisticated indoor marihuana growing operation was located inside the residence, along with a loaded handgun and rifle.

843 plants were seized along with several pounds of dried marihuana bud.

Two males, both 34 years of age and residing at the residence, were arrested for production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. One was released on a Promise to Appear in court in Rossland on June 3, 2010. The other accused was held in custody to appear in Rossland court on April 19, 2010. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant from 2000 for similar offences in Hope, B.C.
