The Castlegar Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Kootenay Home and Lifestyles Expo is all set for a busy, entertaining and productive weekend at the Selkirk campus April 16 to 18.

The event, formerly the Dreams to Reality Home Show held at the Castlegar Complex, expanded last year and moved to a larger venue.

“The Complex is a wonderful venue, but we were bursting at the seams both inside and out,” said chamber executive director Pam Mcleod. “We decided to move the whole thing and re-brand ourselves – we didn’t want to limit ourselves to specific products and services by only using the word ‘home’. The word ‘lifestyle’ means something different to everyone, and meant more room to grow and encompass something for everyone.”

She said they’re expecting a minimum of 70 vendors this year, displaying everything from titanium cookware to ATVs, boats and more.

“There’s spas, facials/beauty treatments …even a laser that shows you where wrinkles are developing under your skin, so you can stop them before they start to show,” she said. “There’s so much really neat stuff; so many great ideas to enhance your home, garden and life.

“And we have new vendors coming this year that we’ve never had before, some with products or services you wouldn’t normally get to see here in Castlegar,” she added.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by an adult.
