This is a reminder of the upcoming Thursday, September 24th State of Rossland: Indicators and Monitoring Public Event at the Miners’ Hall. The event will run from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The Rossland Sustainability Commission welcomes your attendance.

This event represents a key milestone in our Columbia Basin Trust Indicators and Monitoring project. The event will provide Rossland residents with the opportunity to learn more about sustainability monitoring in other communities and the proposed set of draft indicators for Rossland. We will then solicit your feedback on what indicators we should utilize to measure Rossland’s progress towards sustainability.

The draft indicators and agenda for the event are now available on-line at www.visionstoaction.ca in the State of Rossland section. Hard copies of the indicator package will be available at City Hall on Tuesday, September 22nd. Opportunities for written comment will be provided following the public event. Watch the Visions to Action website for details.

We hope to finalize the set of indicators in November. Once that is complete, data will be collected for each of the indicators and a Sustainability Report Card will be produced for Rossland. The Report Card will be completed by early 2010.

Please consider attending the event and providing your views.
