Two Trail men facing charges after alleged assault

An alleged assault in downtown Trail has led to the arrest of two men, according to a press release issued by Trail RCMP top cop Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

On April 28 at 11:46 a.m., the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP received a report that a 57-year-old male victim of Trail, had been allegedly assaulted by two males in downtown Trail. The RCMP attended the scene and arrested a 24-year-old male suspect of Trail, BC, and a 32-year-old male of Trail, for the assault. Further investigation revealed that the 24-year-old male suspect had allegedly kicked and knocked down the victim. The suspect and victim knew each other and the assault was targeted.  The general public was not in danger.   

 

The 24-year-old male suspect will make his first appearance on Aug. 13, 2020, in Provincial Court, in Rossland, and will face one count of Assault contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code. 

 

The RCMP’s search incidental to the arrest of the 32-year-old male discovered 15 grams of a substance believed to be Methamphetamine.  The 32-year-old male suspect will make his first appearance on October 15, 2020, in Provincial Court, in Rossland, and will face one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
