Rossland Skate Park Association is Yodeling Their Way to $ 60,000

The Rossland Skate Park Association (RSA) is excited about partnering with Yodel.org on their biggest fundraising campaign ever!  They are rallying the community to reach their goal of raising $ 30,000 in 30 days.  For every dollar received during this campaign in the month of December, RSA receives matching funds, dollar for dollar, up to $ 30,000 from two generous anonymous donors and the Nelson & District Credit Union.

To meet this audacious goal they are encouraging everyone to join in by wearing lederhosen and to start singing from mountaintops – no not really (unless you really want to).  But they do want you to use Yodel!

Yodel is a new, easy-to-use crowdfunding site created by Rossland based company Copper Hut Technologies that lets you meet two goals at once: pursuing a personal or group challenge while also raising money for a cause.  Crowdfunding has become one of the fastest and most cost effective ways for community causes to raise funds.  RSA’s Robin Strachen states “we preferred Yodel over other crowdfunding sites because we like the idea of doing challenges that are fun and rewarding and that bring the community together.  By creating our own site on Yodel.org we are now equipped to reach out to donors, send updates and share Challengers’ stories through social media and seamlessly collect donations that go directly to our cause.”

RSA board members and their families will be embarking on their challenges during the month of December to raise pledges for the park.  Everyone can join the efforts to get the park built by making a donation online and or starting a challenge and rallying your friends, family and social networks to make pledges on the yodel page.

It takes minutes to create a challenge on Yodel’s easy to use site and challenges can be just about anything.  Examples of challenges could be wearing lederhosen and singing from mountaintops, doing yoga, skiing laps on Red, trying to beat a world record, or 30 days of conscience acts of kindness. Check out the yodel page for even more ideas, the choice is up to you and the opportunities are endless.

“At Yodel, we’re super stoked about the Skate Parks campaign.  What shows Holiday spirit more than a whole community doing things they love, sharing fun experiences while giving back to a great community cause?” says Mike Kent COO of Yodel
