Seven Summits Centre for Learning students Dressember campaign at success
The Dressember campaign to end human trafficking and modern day slavery at the Seven Summits Centre for Learning (7S) in Rossland was another success as students raised more than $500 during the fundraising drive.
"We want to thank all those in the community, as well as our 7S students and parents, who donated to our Dressember campaign,” says Vivienne Hurley, marketing coordinator, Seven Summits Centre for Learning.
“(You) helped us raised awareness of the annual initiative and who supported us by wearing ties, dresses and pins during the whole of December.
“Together, we can be part of the solution and continue to help bring an end to human trafficking as well as modern day slavery."
The Dressember campaign saw students make a difference by dressing up for the 31 days in December — accepting the challenge to wear a dress or tie throughout the entire month to raise awareness of modern slavery and help the charity prevent trafficking, and intervene and protect the lives of trafficking victims and survivors in Canada and across the world.
In the end the students fundraising drive raised $521.
