The City of Rossland is proud to extend its heartfelt congratulations to Remi and Jasmine Drolet, two remarkable local, Black Jack Ski Club athletes who will be representing Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina later this week.

This brother-sister duo earned their place on Team Canada’s Cross‑Country Ski Team late last year and are currently training together as they prepare for February’s Olympic competition. They are only the second brother-sister duo to represent Canada in Nordic events at the Olympic Games.

It is notable that since the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, all the BC cross-country ski Olympians except for one hail from Rossland.

On behalf of the entire community, Rossland City Council applauds your dedication, discipline, and inspiring commitment to excellence. Their achievement highlights not only their individual hard work but also the strength of Rossland’s longstanding winter sport culture.

“We are incredibly proud of Remi and Jasmine – and we know that Rosslanders everywhere will be cheering them on as they represent our country—and our hometown—on the world stage.”, Council said in a joint statement.  “Their journey to the Olympic stage reflects both their exceptional talent and the supportive community that helped lift them along the way.”

The City encourages residents to follow their progress and join in celebrating this milestone for two young athletes who continue to make Rossland proud.
