Officers investigate Fruitvale woman for impaired driving

October 8th, 2025

On Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at 6:32 p.m., a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a 35-year-old Fruitvale woman who had backed into her neighbour’s vehicle in the 1900 block of Martin Street in Fruitvale.

Officers located the woman and her vehicle at her residence. She allegedly admitted to being responsible for the incident.

An officer observed that the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may have been impaired by a drug. A demand was read to the woman who underwent Standard Field Sobriety Tests which resulted in a fail.

The 35-year-old Fruitvale woman was issued a 24-hour Immediate Driving Prohibition under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. The officer also issued a Notice & Order ticket to repair defects on her vehicle.

“Trail and Greater District RCMP continue to target impaired driving to enhance road safety on our streets and highway,” says Sgt. Wicentowich.
