Temporary Centennial Trial closure
Rossland’s well-used Centennial Trail will be closed from August 14 to September 30, 2025, for upgrades.
What’s being done?
The grade on the hill by the water treatment plant will be reduced, and the section from the tunnel under Highway 3-B to the north end of the Centre Star Gulch Reservoir will be paved.
The trail will be separated from Letoria Road north of the crossing at Old Red Mountain Road.
Who is paying for all this?
The project is fully grant funded. They City has gained the following funding:
- $500,000 from the Ministry of Transportation Active Transportation Grant
- $100,000 from the Columbia Basin Trust,
- $250,000 from a combination of City Resort Municipality Initiative and Climate Action Reserve funds.

Drifters Trail will not be accessible from Highway 3-B; see map below for alternate route.
Other alternate routes:
— Use Moe’s Trail
— Access Eddie J Trail via Moe’s to Old Red Mountain Road to Highway 3B.
— Access Red Resort via Trails on the West side of the reservoir
