Assault at residence, assault on Trail officer
On May 10, at 11:42 p.m.,, a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about an alleged assault that occurred between a 37-year-old Trail woman and a 51-year-old Trail woman in the 1700 block of Third Avenue in Trail, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
“The officer attended the scene and discovered the 51-year-old Trail woman with a broken ankle and alleged that the 37-year-old Trail woman had assaulted her,” Wicentowich said. “Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the incident. The woman was transported to the Trail hospital for medical treatment.
“The officer arrested the 37-year-old Trail woman for Assault causing bodily harm contrary to Section 269 of the Criminal Code. The woman allegedly resisted her arrest and a physical altercation ensued. The officer gained control of the woman and took her into custody.”
Wicentowich said the 37-year-old Trail woman was later released on conditions.
The investigation continues.
