Man facing additional charges after fires deliberately set in Nelson
Nelson Police said the British Columbia Prosecution Service has filed additional charges against Nelson resident, David Lloyd Travis in regards to deliberately set fires that occurred on July 24th, 2024.
Nelson Police said the additional charges came following a diligent ongoing investigation by officers into three deliberately set fires, including a brush fire in the city’s popular Gyro Park.
Nelson Police said that as of August 7th, 2024, Travis has been charged with the following offences:
- Three (3) counts of Arson contrary to Section 434 of Criminal Code of Canada
- One (1) count of Break, Enter, and Commit contrary to Section 348(1)(b) of Criminal Code of Canada
Travis remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court via video conference on August 8, 2024.
