Spring Break Camps
Join us at the museum for two weeks of fun, educational, and interactive Spring Break Day Camps:

Week #1: Time Travelers: Adventures Through History
Wish you had a time machine to journey back and experience the past? If you answered yes, then “Time Travelers: Adventures Through History” is just the camp for you! Join us for a week of historic fun as we venture into a different time period every day. This camp will take us from the Ice Age all the way to the 20th century with different games and activities to complement each day’s theme. Register now for some good old-fashioned fun!

This 5-day camp runs March 18 – 22 from 9 am to 3 pm (drop-off begins at 8:45 am, pick-up between 3-4 pm). Cost: $200 (10% discount for members)

Week #2: Around the World in 80 4 Days!
Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE Rossland – but there’s a big, wide world out there. That’s why we decided we’re going to take participants on a trip around the world – metaphorically at least! We’ll land our imagination-plane in a different country each day, and learn about different cultures through games, activities, music, and food. Curious kids and those with a knack for adventure are bound to love this camp!

This 4-day camp runs March 25 – 28 from 9 am to 3 pm (drop-off begins at 8:45 am, pick-up between 3-4 pm). Cost: $160 (10% discount for members)

*Camps appropriate for ages 6-10. Max 16 children per week.
Refunds are available (less a $25 admin fee), given 2 weeks’ notice before the first day of camp.

Then there’s a Speaker Series event next Thurday:

“Growing Up In Remarkable Times in Rossland,” with Lou Corrado & Kim Deane
Lou Corrado grew up in Rossland in the later years of the Great Depression and Kim Deane following the Second World War. Having lived here for so long and through such extraordinary times, both have seen the city change and evolve to an extraordinary degree. These two long-time Rosslanders will take us on a fascinating and nostalgic journey through Rossland’s history, touching on the post-war period, the evolution of Cominco, the expansion of the skiing industry, evolving subcultures, and more! If you’re interested in Rossland’s history or you’re another long-time local looking to indulge in a little nostalgia (and maybe learn something new about your backyard!) then this is the event for you.
Our March Speaker Series event is Thursday, March 28 at 6 pm – Entry is by donation and treats/refreshments will be provided. RSVP here <https://square.link/u/MI0mYMGs> or you can email info@rosslandmuseum.ca or call 250-362-7722.
For more information, check out our website rosslandmuseum.ca/news/2024/march-speaker or get in touch with Kaleigh at programs@rosslandmuseum.ca.
We hope to see you there!
This event is supported in part by the Flying Steamshovel.
And of course, we have our Easter Egg Hunt immediately following Spring Break!
Easter Egg Hunt
Snow is on the ground – but spring is in the air – and that means it’s almost time for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Come up to the Museum on Saturday, March 30 to join in the hunt, try your hand at a classic egg-and-spoon race, bunny-hop your way through a sack race, enjoy some eastery-crafts, and more!

Egg Hunts start at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, and 2:30 p.m.

If you’re interested in volunteering, get in touch with Fiona at admin@ rosslandmuseum.ca or 250-362-7722! We’re always on the hunt for face painters and egg-hiders!

Entry is by donation. This event is supported in part by the @Columbia Basin Trust.
