There is a new local children’s story book available this holiday season and the authors are coming to the Goldrush Bookstore in Rossland to share their storybook with the local community on Saturday, December 9.

Locally photographed and written by Lucas and Ginia Jmieff, authors of Kootenay EscapesFollow Me to the Golden Tree explores the spectacular outdoor surroundings of the West Kootenays across four seasons, through the adventures of two animal friends. Combining digitally painted photographs of real locations with illustrated animal characters, the storybook will inspire families to get outdoors and discover new places, while teaching kids to appreciate our region’s natural beauty and the wild animals that live in the mountains and valleys around us. Specific to Rossland, readers will discover the adventures at Seven Summits and Nancy Greene Lake.

A true local collaboration, Follow Me to the Golden Tree is designed, self-published, photographed and written by Lucas and Ginia Jmieff (Mountain Art Publishing) with character illustrations by Nichola Lytle (Pink Dog Designs), both from Nelson, BC. The book makes a wonderful gift for any time of year.

Lucas and Ginia will be doing a book reading & signing of “Follow Me to the Golden Tree” on Saturday, December 9 from 1 – 3pm at the Goldrush Bookstore in Rossland. They will also be available to sign their photographic coffee table book “Kootenay Escapes”.
