Fatal crash on Columbia Avenue Tuesday morning
Police are confirming some details regarding a fatal collision Tuesday morning, with Castlegar RCMP NCOIC Sgt. Monty Taylor indicating the cause of the crash was likely medical in nature.
“I can confirm on Tuesday Dec. 20, just after 6:30 a.m., we received a report of a vehicle which struck a power pole in the 3200 block area of Columbia Avenue resulting in a power outage in the North Castlegar area,” Taylor said.
“Upon attendance a lone 65-year-old (male) occupant of the vehicle was deceased and, though still under investigation by the BC Coroner Service, suspected to have experienced a medical emergency prior to the collision.”
