Smoke Eaters Sign Spooner From OHA
The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the signing of Remy Spooner from the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) for the 2022/23 season!
Spooner, from Kelowna, BC, is the top point per game scorer at OHA this year with 1.11 points per game. The 17-year-old forward has 13 goals and 17 assists in 27 games this season. As a 16-year-old last year, in limited game time he posted 11 points in 9 games due to a shortened Covid-19 season, Spooner was second in team scoring, behind current Smoke Eater Ridge Dawson.
“Remy is a player that has got better and better as this season has progressed. He can play in all situations and we have been very impressed with his 2nd half offensive production. We would like to welcome him to the Smoke Eaters program”, says Smoke Eaters General Manager and Head Coach Tim Fragle.
“I’m super grateful and honoured to be joining the Smoke Eaters! I’d like to thank my parents, coaches and friends for helping me get to this point. I’ve heard great things about the City of Trail and the organization. I’m looking forward to what the future holds and doing whatever I can to help the team win!” – Remy Spooner
The Smoke Eaters would like to welcome Remy and his family to the Smoke Eaters organization and the City of Trail. We look forward to seeing him suit up for the Smoke Eaters in the fall!
