“On Sunday, Aug. 1, at 12:48 a.m., Trail and Greater District RCMP conduct a Road Safety Check Stop in the 1200 block of Birch Avenue, in Trail,” said RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich. “During the check stop, a frontline Trail RCMP officer reportedly detected an odour of liquor emanating from a 31-year-old Rossland woman driving a red 2006 Ford Explorer and entered into an impaired driving investigation.

“A demand was read to the woman, who provided a sample of breath roadside that resulted in a fail. The woman was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. Her vehicle was impounded for a period of at least 30-days.”
