RCMP: Have you seen a naked man walking down the street?
An ancient Chinese curse says, “May you live in interesting times.”
Trail RCMP certainly are, as they deal with not only the impacts of a global pandemic, but also at least two men who appear to be excessively comfortable with nudity, according to Trail RCMP top cop Mike Wicentowich.
In a press release Monday, Wicentowich said police received multiple reports of a naked man walking through Trail.
“On April 17, at 7:55 a.m. the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP received five reports from local residents about a naked male walking along Fourth Avenue, in East Trail,” he said. “Patrols were conducted; however, the male was not located at the time of the incident.
“The male is believed to be a 36-year-old Trail resident who was headed toward a popular walking trail located behind the Trail hospital.”
He said this was not the first such scenario to play out in Silver City.
“Around Christmastime, we had another person strip down naked in a restaurant,” he said, adding this person was dealt with by police.
The original guess was that the most recent situation was the same person – but such was not the case, and police are now looking to speak to the alfresco trail enthusiast.
“We don’t believe he’s any danger to the public, but we don’t want people to try to stop him or hold him for the police,” he said, “Just let us know.”
The Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP can be contacted through their non-emergency telephone number at 250-364-2566 to report sightings.
