On April 18, at 3 p.m., a RCMP E-Division Roving Traffic member along with a Salmo General Duty member conducted a vehicle stop on Hwy 3/6 outside of Salmo, according to RCMP Cpl. Darryl Orr.

“Two adults were arrested during this traffic stop and quantities of drugs believed to be Ecstasy (MDMA), Acid (LSD), Hashish, Marihuana and Cannabis Oil were seized,” Orr said.

“Both suspects were later released and will appear in Nelson Provincial Court at a future date. Charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act will be recommended against both suspects.

“The vehicle the suspects were driving was deemed unsafe and it was impounded,” Orr concluded.

“E-Division Roving Traffic and the Salmo RCMP remain dedicated to the eradication of illicit drug use and trafficking in this area to ensure the public’s safety.”
