Smoke Eaters' Colella Commits to Northern Michigan Wildcats for 2020/21.

Trail, British Columbia (April 1st, 2020) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the commitment of #13 Michael Colella to Northern Michigan University to play division 1 hockey next season.

After a season in the USHL in 2018/19 where he totaled 23 points in 54 games, including 21 points in ten games at the NCDC level. Colella, who came to the Smoke Eaters for his 20-year-old season exploded onto the BCHL scene. The Turnersville, New Jersey native made a name for himself in the BCHL finishing third in league scoring. Including playoffs, Colella had 71 points in 62 games, as he played every Smoke Eaters game this season.

Colella’s commitment to Northern Michigan brings the Smoke Eaters total to 12 players who are committed to Division 1 programs. There are currently seven former BCHL players on the Wildcats roster.
