62-yr-old Castlegar man to face drug trafficking charges after police raid
A 62-year-old man will be appearing in court next month after a drug raid in Castlegar, according to RCMP Sgt. Darren Oelke.
“On March 20 … at 7:45 p.m., the Joint Crime Reduction Unitof Castlegar and Trail, along with the assistance of Castlegar General Duty members, executed a Controlled Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 2600 block of 10 Avenue in Castlegar,” Oelke said in a press release.
“A 62-year-old Castlegar man was taken into custody in relation to the search warrant. Controlled Substances, Canadian Currency and evidence to support drug trafficking was located and seized. The man was later released from custody and will appear in Castlegar Court on Aug. 21.”
RCMP Cpl. Jason Olney said police cannot confirm what kind of drug they seized until it has undergone laboratory testing.
