Brian Poch, representing the Members of the Rossland Branch of the Nelson and District Credit Union, posed this past week with members of the cast of the 2018 Gold Fever Follies as he presented them with generous and much appreciated donation to help cover some of the costs of putting on a new show every summer.

This summer’s show, SKIS & SKATES, shares the story of Olaus Jeldnesss (in)famous Tea Party, and the start of the first Rossland Winter Carnival, but its real focus is on the creation of the first Rossland Women’s Hockey team in 1900. The team went undefeated for 17 years, and was recently inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame.

It is their story that the cast of the Follies will be presenting…and yes! In addition to some brand new fantastic cancan numbers, the ladies will be appearing on skates!  You won’t want to miss this very special show.

SKIS & SKATES opens at the Rossland Miners Hall on Saturday, June 30 at 7:30 pm. Shows run for the rest of the summer until August 25 with two shows a day, Tuesday through Saturday: 3:00pm and 7:30pm.  Watch for a review of the first performance in this publication . . .

The GRAND OPENING, when audience members get to mingle with the cast after the show, is at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 11.
