Possible jumper on bridge draws fire crews
Mental Health issues continue to be a relevant portion of local first-responder calls, based on a press release issued by Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue at 5:32 p.m. Sunday.
The release, issued by Acting Captain Mike Lenarduzzi, indicated that KBRFR responded to a call from RCMP of a possible jumper off Victoria Street Bridge. at 3:34 p.m. Six Trail firefighters responded, arriving at 3:45 p.m. and resolving the issue by 4 p.m.
“A search downriver was conducted until the patient was located on shore by the RCMP and was … transported to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.”
The situation remains under investigation by the RCMP.
