A two-vehicle collision caused a brief closure of Hwy 3A this morning, according to Castlegar RCMP Cpl. Brett Turner.

“A vehicle was turning left onto Hwy 3A off of Glade Ferry Road toward Castlegar, and was struck by a northbound vehicle, resulting in a T-bone collision,” Turner said. “It caused extensive damage to the vehicles, both of which had to be towed.”

There were no passengers involved. One driver was transported to hospital by BCAS, and the other went to hospital of his own accord, both suffering only minor injuries.

“It was very fortunate that the injuries weren’t more serious,” Turner said.

One ticket was issued for a traffic violation.

Tarrys Fire Department also attended, and Turner said it’s thanks to their speedy arrival and management of traffic control that the highway was only closed for a short time.
