Police on lookout for masked fuel thief at Whitewater Ski Resort

RCMP is asking for public assistance after fuel was stolen early Tuesday (November 22) morning from Whitewater Ski Resort south of Nelson.

Acting Corporal Bill Long said in a media release that this suspect was caught on video located at the hill.

“A lone male suspect dressed in a high visible top wearing a mask, gloves and dark pants drove a late 90’s bronze/ brown GMC Suburban or Yukon to the maintenance yard of the Whitewater Ski Resort,” Long said.

“The suspect male cut the lock housing on the secured gate, drove into the yard next to the fuel tank and filled a number of red and yellow 20 liter jerry cans with fuel and departed.”

Long said police are asking the general public’s assistance in identifying this vehicle and/or anyone associated to this vehicle.
