Five people were transported to Trail Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Monday evening following a two-car accident at the junction of Highway 3A & 6 said RCMP Sergeant Monty Taylor in a media release Tuesday.

Taylor said the accident happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the Playmor Junction intersection.

“The preliminary investigation identifies that one of the vehicles, the blue Honda Civic, made a left-hand turn in front of the on-coming Infiniti,” Taylor explained.

Taylor said the highway in both directions was temporarily closed while medial treatment was provided to the vehicle occupants and while police conducted an investigation of the accident.

Nelson RCMP along with EHS and local volunteer fire departments attended the accident scene.

Taylor said the investigation continues with the consideration of charges.
