Armed robbery in Fruitvale prompts arrest of three locals
Three local people are in police custody after an armed robbery of the BC Liquor Store in Fruitvale this morning.
“A male entered the store at around 9 a.m., brandishing a handgun, and confronted the employee, making off with a great deal of cash,” said Trail top cop Sgt. Darren Oelke.
Later the same morning, police arrested three people, two men and a woman, in front of the Bank of Montreal in Trail’s downtown core.
“An imitation handgun and a significant amount of cash were recovered,” Oelke said. “All three persons are well known to police, and we believe all three were involved.”
All three remain in police custody, and Oelke said the investigation is ongoing.
