Driver clad in his birthday suit goes on crime spree in downtown Vernon
The Vernon RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on 30th Avenue in Vernon, where a man dressed only in his birthday suit crashed his vehicle into a store front.
On Friday afternoon on Aug. 5, the Vernon RCMP received a report that a 1996 Jeep Cherokee SUV had crashed into a local business in the downtown area on 30th Ave. Vernon RCMP officers attended and with an accurate description of the man, centered on the fact that he was naked, caught him not to far away. The man was immediately transported to hospital for an assessment of any needed medical treatment.
The 49 year old man was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. RCMP investigators spoke to witnesses who stated that the vehicle was Westbound when it drove into the building.
“It is alleged that the naked man then tried to rob the store and attempted twice to carjack other vehicles in order to flee the area. Albeit a bizarre set of circumstances we are thankful that no one was injured” stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk
