Police investigating fatality at Whistler
Police are investigating the death of a woman on Whistler Mountain yesterday, according to RCMP Sgt. Rob Knapton.
“RCMP received the call at approximately 3:30 p.m. on April 13, of the incident which occurred in the west ridge area of Whistler Mountain,” Knapton said in a press release this morning. “We attended to the scene to locate a 48-year-old female at the base of a 25-metre cliff.”
He said the victim had been discovered by a skier in the area, who then reported the situation to police.
“Whistler ski patrol and on-mountain physicians attended to the scene however they were unable to resuscitate the woman,” Knapton said.
“Police are currently investigating as well as the B.C. Coroner Service.”
