Treat yourself and give back today with Black Rooster/community services fundraiser
Today’s the day to treat yourself while still giving back this holiday, as the Black Rooster has committed a portion of every sale today to be donated to Castlegar and District Community Services Society (CDCSS).
Brittany Scott, front house supervisor at the Rooster, said the money will then be dispersed by the CDCSS to local families in need this holiday season.
“We wanted to do something special, we think it’s important to give back to the community,” she said. “We’re also sponsoring a single mom with five kids through CDCSS – other businesses and individuals can do it, too. There are other local families who could use a sponsor.”
She said the sponsorship is fun and great for company morale.
“Everyone got really involved. It’s been wonderful to see everyone come together like this.”
The Black Rooster will be open today from 11 a.m. to midnight, with the kitchen closing at 10 p.m. – or you can watch for donation jars at the Thirsty Duck, Grand Buddha Bistro and the Lion’s Head Pub.
Also, please feel free to drop off an unwrapped gift at CDCSS’s downtown office at 1007 – 2 Street.
