Ring in the New Year in style- your favourite style from the past, present, or future – at the Rossland Council for Arts and Culture’s Time Traveller’s Ball!

Hosted by DJs RSK and Sexton Blake (Rupert Keiller and Nadine Tremblay) and featuring raffles, prizes, midnight snacks, Burlesque and other performances, the Ball guarantees to help you travel into the new    year with a bang!

This event aims to raise funds, and awareness, for the renovation and restoration of the historic Rossland Miners Hall. The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is spearheading this project, which will commence this spring. There is still a lot to be done to reach the fundraising goal.

“Since 1898 the Miners Union Hall has been a central feature of Rossland.” Says Kimberley Pegg of RCAC, “Today the beautiful heritage building functions as a community hall and is used by many for activities and events. The Hall is Rossland’s predominant community venue”

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture has a special relationship with the Miners Hall; for the past 15 years many upgrades have been led by RCAC to make the hall more functional for community use. The new project will include repairs and painting of the exterior, replacement of the roof, remodelling of the entrance plaza for safety, restoration of the building façade to include 1898 original features and a renovation of the unused attic space into a performers green room and multi-use space for public events and recreational programming.

“We wanted a fun way to raise awareness for the project,” says Pegg. “A New Year’s Eve Party seemed like the perfect way to include the community, raise money for the project, and have one last great bash at the Miners Hall before it closes for renovations!”

The Time Traveller’s Ball seemed a perfect fit as a theme- celebrating the past and transitioning to the future. Guest are invited to dress in costume from their favourite decade or era.  There will be a costume contest.  Snacks will be provided close to midnight and music from different eras will be playing all night.  So whatever you wear make sure to complete the outfit with your dancing shoes!

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Out of the Cellar or online at rosslandartscouncil.com/Upcoming-Events. Doors open at 8:30, and the party will be rocking all night!
