Writers Take Note -- Essay Contest: $10,000 Prize

The Dalton Camp Award will go to the winner or winners of an essay competition on the link between democracy and the media in Canada.
For thirteen years now, FRIENDS has sponsored the Dalton Camp Award, an essay competition honouring the memory of a great Canadian journalist and political actor who, among his many achievements, was one of FRIENDS’ founders in 1985.
This year, the winner will receive a $10,000 prize for excellence in creative, original essay-writing on the link between democracy and the media in Canada. A discretionary second prize of $2,500 may be awarded for the best essay submitted by a post-secondary student or recent graduate. Post-secondary students are eligible for both the main prize and the discretionary prize.
The deadline for entries is December 1, 2015.
