Three Castlegar residents have been arrested after a search warrant revealed a variety of illegal drugs yesterday, according to RCMP Staff Sgt. Leanne Tuchscherer

“On Oct. 15, the Castlegar and Trail Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant …under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act,” she said. “A number of substances were seized, including what is believed to be 70 tablets containing fentanyl, in excess of three ounces of cocaine and a small amount of marihuana.”

She qualified, though, that laboratory analysis is required to confirm the substances.

“Three Castlegar area residents, two males and one female, have been arrested. Charges have been recommended for the Possession for the Purose of Trafficking, Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. One of the males was also alleged to have been breaching a Probation Order. “

She said the two males remain in custody, and the matter is still under investigation.
