The Foggy Goggle Boys made it to the Regional Finals in the annual CBC “Searchlight” competition. Over 3300 bands were originally entered in the competition, and only 225 made the regional finals.   On April 28, the National Finalists were announced.   23 musical entries made that cut, but they did not include our guys.

The Foggy Goggle Boys now consist of Brian Taylor, Jonathan Provencal,  Dale Green, Gord LePage, and Ian Johnson — for more details, such as which one is assigned the nickname “Eye Candy,”  go to

Members of the group have delighted audiences at Joe Hill Coffeehouse in Rossland a few times, and many others at other venues.  Their having reached the Regional Finals in this competition is a tribute to their talent and audience appeal.  Modestly, band member Ian Johnson credits their level of success to  “the tremendous local support we have received from the communities all through the Kootenays.”  May they long continue  making music.
