Catch the Spirit, the Grand Forks International Baseball Tournament (GFI) is back for another year, starting June 30th and ending July 5th 2015.

I have been involved in different capacities with this tournament since 2008 and am very excited to be in this position, working with such enthusiastic and dedicated, board of directors, volunteer team leaders and volunteers for this 34th tournament.

This whole town “Catches the Spirit” with the generous support of the sponsors and City of Grand Forks and the time and effort of over 300 volunteers who make this exciting event possible.

This year we will be seeing the Burnaby Bulldogs returning to defend their title as the second Canadian team in 32 tournaments to take the title home.

We have a great line up of challengers for Burnaby this year and we will be expecting to see some outstanding ball play.

Of course, along with the great games for the fans to watch, there will be our 50/50 and Bingo games to enjoy, Great food at the Hard Ball Café, Refreshments at the Blue Monster, Excellent Baseball!

So “Catch the Spirit” and come out to the games!

Stay tuned to http://www.grandforksbaseball.com and the Boundary Sentinel for regular updates.

The GFI now has a downtown location in the Vicom Design Inc. office at 283 Market Avenue in Grand Forks.

Put in your volunteer form, buy your ticket, and find out more about the GFI.

See you there!
Brian McAndrew – GFI President/Coordinator
