Castlegar PeeWee House teams take gold and silver in Stateside tourney

This past weekend both Castlegar Pee Wee House teams travelled to Spokane, Washington to compete in the Young American Days Pee Wee House Tournament. 

In round robin play the Castlegar Giants defeated SAYHA 3 with  a score of 3-0.  They then played Cranbrook defeating them 2-1 with final round robin play against Nelson with Castlegar Giants seeing a win of 2-0.

The Castlegar Hitmen also saw victory by defeating SAYHA 4 with a score of 7-1.  They then played SAYHA 2 defeating them 2-0 with final round robin play against SAYHA 1 with Castlegar Hitmen seeing a win of 2-0.

With four teams (Castlegar Giants, Castlegar Hitmen, Tri Cities and South Delta) finishing all their games undefeated it came down to goals against….all four teams only allowed one goal against in round robin competition,  it then came down to penalty minutes, as luck would have it, both Castlegar teams were tied again! Unfortunately for South Delta and Tri Cities they had a few more penalty minutes and would have to play for third and fourth place.

With a 2-0 Final the Castlegar Giants brought home the gold medal and the Castlegar Hitmen brought home the silver.

Representing the Castlegar Giants were:  Blake Grantham, JT Luterbach, Nathan Gray, Corbin Anderson, Lowie Vreys, Ryan Buchanan, Ty Moorey, Gavin Margerison, Paul Nichvolodoff, Tijs Vreys, Carter Gretchen, Braedyn Boyer, Ethan Lawczynski, Bryce Anderson and Coach Scott Gray and Trainer  Sid Gretchen.

Representing the Castlegar Hitmen were: Kaden Howell, Diego Marinelli, Dylan Strelaeff, Matthew Skinner, Noah Carlson, Adam Glock, Tanner Ranta, Dustin Perepolkin, Ethan Streliev, Andrew Gerrand, Eric Kardash, Anthony Medeiros, Ryan Pearce, Kyle Kooznetsoff and Coaches Roger Carlson and Darren Pearce and Trainer Gord Hatch.
