Kokanee Park hosts inter-regional SAR exercise
Beginning Friday, Kokanee Park will be flooded by Search and Rescue Teams as the Heritage City organization hosts large inter-regional SAR exercise, beginning Friday and ending Sunday (September 5-7).
More than 100 SAR members from throughout the region will take part in take part in workshops and training.
Highlighting the weekend is the 442 squadron from Comox with a Cormorant and a Buffalo aircraft arriving for training — provided the crews are not called out on any emergency calls.
SAR organizers have chosen locations that would accommodate viewing of all the activities by the public.
As well there will be public access open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (September 6).
There will be hosts to answer questions and take the public around to different activities.
