Nelson RCMP are pleased to advise the public that a missing local man, Daniel Sookero, was safely located late Wednesday afternoon after experiencing vehicle troubles up a logging road.

Sookero walked out of the forest after spending the night in his vehicle and was then able to call for a ride.

He returned home and later went back with friends and recovered his vehicle.

Police seek help looking for missing 53-year-old Nelson man

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 53-year-old man who has not been seen since May 20, according to RCMP Sgt. Darryl Little.

“The male, Daniel Sookero, is described as 5′-8″ tall, 172 lbs, with brown hair and green eyes,” Little said in a press release late Wednesday morning. “He is believed to be driving his 2006 gray Toyota Tundra pick-up truck (BC Licence DX3307), with roof racks on top.

“Sookero failed to show up for work on Tuesday and was last seen driving north across the Nelson bridge.

“This behaviour is out of character for Mr. Sookero, (and) friends and family are concerned for his well being. Anyone with information or who may have seen him is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-352-2156.”
