Salmo RCMP is appealing to the public for information regarding a bonfire Saturday at the Salmo Ski Hill.

RCMP Cpl. Riordan Bellman said in a release the fire was still smouldering from the night before.

“It appears as though party goers from the night before used tires to fuel a bonfire,” Cpl. Bellman said adding Salmo RCMP received the complaint of the incident.

“Enquiries are being made as to the identities of individuals that were up in the Ski Hill area that night, photos were taken and police are investigating.”

Cpl Bellman said the burning of tires is detrimental to the environment and tires need to be disposed of properly at local facilities.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Salmo RCMP at 250-357-2212.
