The Stingrays attended their first meet of the season this past saturday in Grand Forks. The team had amazing results. Stingrays swimmers won 5 meet records, 12 aggregate medals and placed 2nd overall in Team Points.

Among the aggregate medals were first time recipients Nicole Merry, placing 3rd in the division 4 girls category, Josie Dunham, placing 3rd in the division 1 girls category.

New meet record holders are

  • Daniel Merry in division 5 boys 50 fly
  • Diego Greenwood in division 4 boys 50free and 100back
  • Sam Grebe in division 8 women 100 breast
  • and the division 4 boys freestyle relay consisting of Diego Greenwood, Josh Ballarin, Reid Dunham and Logan Blair.

It was the first meet ever for Ellie Knox, Olivia and Isabella Ady, Jessica Debiasio, and Kira Konkin who all had amazing races! There were copious amounts of personal best times; some swimmers took off as many as 13 seconds in their races.

I am very proud of the team’s astounding performance in Grand Forks and look forward to their next swim meet accomplishments this weekend in Trail.

The Trail Swim Meet will be held this weekend, June 15 and 16 starting at 9:00am both days. The public is welcome to come watch and support Trail’s home swim team.

Samme Beatson is the head coach of the Stingrays.
